Linear Alkylbenzene (LAB)
Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) serves as a precursor for detergents. Initially, it reacts with SO3 gas to form sulfonic alkyl benzene acid. This acid is then treated with caustic soda to produce sodium alkylbenzene sulfonate. Ultimately, this sulfonate is utilized as a surfactant agent in the production of household detergents.
