N-Paraffin is the primary raw material for producing Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB). Extracted from kerosene, which typically contains 20-25% paraffin, N-Paraffin production is usually situated near a refinery so that the paraffin-free kerosene can be returned to it. More than 80% of N-Paraffin is used in LAB production, while the rest is processed into special solvents for various industrial applications, such as synthetic resins, paints, varnishes, degreasing agents, and printing inks. In industrial settings, normal paraffin acts as a solvent for producing polymers, resins, dyes, artistic coatings, and grease polishers.
